Social dining means sharing a meal with people you wouldn't ordinarily eat with — strangers, acquaintances, or a curated group brought together by a shared interest or experience.
It's practiced widely in Europe and North America (supper clubs, communal tables, chef's table experiences) but is still early in India. Zubly is building the infrastructure for it in Indian metros, starting with Bangalore.
The mechanics are simple: a host picks a restaurant and posts a table on Zubly. Strangers browse the table, see the restaurant, vibe and date, and pay ₹99 to confirm a seat. Once enough people confirm, Zubly automatically books the restaurant through Swiggy Dineout. Everyone shows up, eats, and pays their own dinner bill directly at the restaurant.
